Our services

We offer Alternative Provision services and personalised tuition on an hourly basis, in the areas listed below. This may be direct tuition with the student, or advice/support and working with the parents/carer to navigate difficulties in mainstream education, or support in home schooling. In all cases, we start with a discussion to understand what is needed and how to provide the most impact.

Special Needs

Alison has extensive experience in this area, having worked within the education system and the individual. However it can be a very complex and challenging space, with every situation being unique, so an initial consultation is essential to determine the best way forward. Often mainstream schooling cannot provide the individual or specialist help really needed. We can find as little as one hour per week, carefully targeted, can make all the difference to a child's learning and confidence, and to them coping or not coping with life in school. In all our tutoring, this has the biggest single impact in a student's progress, wellbeing and future prospects. We can help with:

Gifted and able

Dyslexia and dyscalculia

Neurodiversity focus (ADHD, ADD, ASD)

SEND/EHCP consultancy, assessment, report writing

Teacher and TA professional development

Consultancy

Alison also has extensive teaching and leadership experience, so can support schools in various areas. Often a relatively small intervention can have a disproportionate benefit to a school. This may be to help inexperienced staff in specific areas, a shortfall in cover, or other difficulties that hold a school back. Support may include;

Leadership or SENDCo cover, or assistance, e.g. report or policy writing

Training - e.g. STEPS
